Cannonball Curly!

Every two weeks we are celebrating the Official Bilderwumme Drawing Night, a nice evening with colleagues and friends dedicated to art of drawing funny pictures. Most of the contestants are posting on our group blog The Bilderwumme, by the way. Usually we pick a theme that sometimes dramatically changes into something completely different. A couple of weeks ago the theme was seafaring. That was much fun! This is one of the sketches I did.

At first I used a brush pen for inking but I wasn't satisfied with the result. It didn't feel appropriate for the style. So I drew another version and used a felt pen instead. (Is felt pen the right word? Or is fineliner better?) I added some shading for now, but I will defiantely colorize it when I find the time.

Swashbuckling Birthday Present!

This is a birthday present I did recently. I usually don't like to do that, but when I was ill I didn't have the time to buy a proper one. And she wished for it ... last year. She explicitly asked for a pirate. What could I do? I made an exception to the rule. Then I quickly bought a cheap plastic baroque picture frame to add that special extra something. When I gave it to her she yelled and immediately hung it to the wall. Well, I guess she liked it ...

Skeleton Pirate - Aaarrrrrrrr!

I started off this blog with a pirate post. But since then there have been no pirates at all. And no skulls and skeletons too. That's a shame. So here is the 2-in-1 package: A skeleton pirate! Aaarrrrrrr!

(I wasn't in the mood for soft shading so I used some colour hatching instead this time.)

Welcome aboard, mateys!

Things are changing in 2007. After being the last one in the western civilization to get a mobile - which I bought in February - I'm finally starting off my own blog. Beside my regular posts at our group-blog Die Bilderwumme I'll try to post some more stuff here.

For the posts at the Bilderwumme are usually not work related I'm going to post some artwork here I'm actually paid for. And maybe sketches and work-in-progress things. Maybe links and things?! We'll see.

I hope you'll come by regularly. And be sure to leave some comments!

Arrrrr, thanks for visiting anyway, you scurvy sons o' dogs!

Cheers,

Olfie

PS: Maybe I'll also manage to fix my bike in 2007 ...
